Event founder and president David Howden and his family, who live in Cornbury House, are passionate about all forms of equestrian sport, and in particular eventing and racing. This will be the fourth year that Cornbury House has held the prestigious British Eventing Young Horse Championships, sponsored by The Howden Way, for the country’s most promising five-, six- and seven-year-old horses. These run alongside open and under-21 CCI3*-S and CCI2*-S classes and British eventing national classes at Advanced U-25, Open Intermediate and Intermediate level. The Leading Rider over the event will win £2,500 and a magnificent silver trophy.

About Cornbury House Horse Trials
The 2026 event will be the seventh year of Cornbury House Horse Trials, which takes place on the Cornbury Park estate near Charlbury in Oxfordshire. As well as FEI eventing classes at CCI3*-S and CCI2*-S level, it will stage the British Eventing Young Horse Championships for five-, six- and seven-year-old horses. The Howden Way Youth classes for under-21 riders and the ARC Racehorse to Eventer Challenge Cup. Cornbury Park Horse Trials ran from 1993-2000, and was a large and popular advanced-level event.
